Delhi Capitals (DC) skipper Rishabh Pant faces a one-match suspension from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct after his team maintained a slow over-rate during the 56th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 against Rajasthan Royals (RR). As per a press release by the BCCI, this was the 3rd time his team maintained a slow over-rate.

"As it was his team's third offence of the season under the IPL's Code of Conduct relating to minimum over-rate offences, Rishabh Pant was fined INR 30 Lac and suspended for one match. The rest of the members of the Playing XI, including the Impact Player, were each individually fined either INR 12 Lac or 50 per cent of their respective match fees, whichever is lesser.," said the Press Release.

Pant, who is the captain and the most valuable player of the DC side has to miss an important game against the RCB team which was the decider to qualify for the playoffs. He has performed really well and his team will definitely miss him in this game.

'We will try to learn from every game...' - Skipper Rishabh Pant after winning match against RR

Captain Rishabh Pant praised his entire team's performance after winning the match against Rajasthan Royals by 20 runs. Openers Jake Fraser-McGurk and Abhishek Porel gave a beautiful start to the team which helped them score 221 runs in the first innings. Hence, at the post-match presentation, Pant was pretty positive about his team's performance.

"We will try to learn from every game. Even when we lose or win, we will keep our heads down and keep moving forward. As always Kuldeep delivered which was great to see. It was close to par and at the same time we were thinking that if we can restrict them to 200 that would be fair and that was the thought process," said Rishabh Pant at the post-match presentation.
