Former legendary Pakistan pacer and ex-skipper Wasim Akram fumed at the Pakistan Cricket Team amidst the team’s dismal run in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024. Notably, the men in green faced two consecutive defeats in their first two matches of the campaign, against the USA and India, respectively.
Earlier, just after the loss against India, Akram demanded a massive change in the Pakistan Cricket Team, excluding 7-8 players and bringing in new talents in the team; meanwhile, he also suggested the management back the new talents in the national cricket team of Pakistan.
"I don't care if it goes viral" - Wasim Akram about 'player-rift' in Pakistan Team
Meanwhile, Akram also came up with a massive statement before Pakistan’s game against Canada. He also addressed the ‘player-rift’ within the national side. The former legendary pacer also said that he doesn’t care if the things he says, go viral and also denied to back the current Pakistan team anymore.
“I can't bring that (killer) instinct in them. It has to come from within," said Akram on Star Sports before the game between Pakistan and Canada in New York on Tuesday, June 11.
“Boht ho gaya, boht back kar liya. Ab ye viral ho jaye ho jaye, I don't care (enough is enough, backed them enough, now I don't care even if this goes viral),” he added later while having a chat with the former India cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu.
Furthermore, Akram also blasted at the current team and the rifts between the senior players in the team. However, he refrained from taking the names but dropped a lot of hints for the fans and experts of the game.
“Somebody has to speak the truth about this Pakistan cricket (team). It's kind of getting out of hands. Kisi ka mood off hai, woh uss se baat nahi kar raha, yeh uss se baat nahi kar raha (somebody's mood is off, this guy is not talking to that guy). Come on guys! What is this going on! Poore mulq ke jazbaat ka tumne satyanaash maar ke rakh diya hai. Hadd hoti hai kisi cheez ki (you have played with the emotions of the entire nation, there is a limit to everything),” said anger-filled Akram.
