Australia started their ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 on a great note after defeating Oman by 39 runs in the 10th match. David Warner's 56 runs off 51 balls and Marcus Stoinis' 67 off 36 balls helped the Aussies score 164 runs in the first innings, which Oman failed to chase. In this match, Warner achieved a feat for Australia that he will be proud of. He has surpassed Aaron Finch and became the highest run-scorer of Australia in T20Is. 

As of the Australia vs Oman match, Warner has now scored 3155 runs in 104 innings, while Finch has scored 3120 runs in 103 innings. The most interesting thing that happened during the match was Finch's reaction after Warner broke his record. The former Australian star sat in the commentary box and applauded Warner after the latter raised his bat. The video was shared by the ICC and has gone viral.

'Couple kept low and couple were spinning for the spinners' - Marcus Stoinis after winning Player of the Match award

After a tremendous performance in the match against Oman, Marcus Stoinis won the Player of the Match award. He scored 67 off 36 balls which helped Australia get a huge score. He hit six sixes and two boundaries at a strike rate of 186.11. 

"I was trying to soak up the conditions and keep it simple. Couple kept low and couple were spinning for the spinners. It seemed like swing wasn't available, and I was trying to get some bounce with cross-seam deliveries," said Marcus Stoinis at the post-match presentation.

T20 World Cup
