The absence of the two stalwarts also resulted in a lack of turnout in Dubai for the match between India and UAE, as many stands were visibly empty. In one part of the stadium, a set of fans carried a poster which had the message 'We miss you' with the images of Virat and Rohit in it.

However, the fans, who were used to them being in action for a long time, were saddened to see their absence. It showed how much of an impact the veterans have had on cricket, especially at the highest level.

However, their abense did not hamper India a bit in the match against UAE, which turned out to be a walk in the park for the world champions. Bowling first, India restricted UAE to just 57 runs in 13.1 overs on the back of Kuldeep Yadav's 4/7 and Shivam Dube's 3/4.

India had no difficulty whatsoever in chasing a paltry total of 58. They did so in style by scoring 60/1 in just 4.3 overs to claim a dominant win. Kuldeep starred for India in the match and won the Player of the Match award for his bowling performance.
