Sunrisers Hyderabad hosted the defending champions, Chennai Super Kings in the 18th match of the ongoing Indian Premier League 2024. Both teams played this match at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. The hosts’ skipper Pat Cummins won the toss and asked CSK to bat first.

Batting first, CSK posted a total of 165 runs for the loss of 5 wickets; Shivam Dube scored the highest wicket 45 runs off 24 balls with 2 fours and 4 sixes. Besides him, Ajinkya Rahane scored 35 runs off 30 balls, with 2 sixes and one four. Ravindra Jadeja also scored 31 runs off just 23 runs off 23 balls with 4 fours.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar, T Natarajan, Pat Cummins, and Shahbaz Ahmed scalped one wicket each, alongside one wicket bagged by Jaydev Unadkat.

The top 3 leads SRH towards the easy chase

While chasing the target, the SRH openers Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma provided an unbelievable and fiery start of 46 runs for the first wicket in just 2.4 overs before Sharma got dismissed at the individual score of 37 runs off just 12 balls, with 3 fours and 4 sixes.

Later, Travis Head and Aiden Markram also stitched a 60-run partnership for the third wicket by the time Head was trapped by Maheesh Theekshana at the individual score of 31 runs. Aiden Markram scored a crucial half-century, scoring 50 runs off 36 balls, with 4 fours and a six.

On the back of these knocks, Sunrisers Hyderabad managed to chase down the target in 18.1 overs, scoring 166 runs for the loss of 4 wickets and winning the match by 6 wickets.
