The Indian team have arrived in Canberra ahead of the 2nd Test against Australia which is set to start on December 6. The Rohit Sharma-led side was invited by the Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese at the Parliament House. The Prime Minister had a warm interaction with each Indian player.

Meanwhile, Albanese was engaged in a humourous interaction with former India skipper Virat Kohli. Albanese was heard saying, “Good ton in Perth as if we weren’t suffering enough at that point.“ Kohli had a savage reply for that as he said, “Got to add some more spice.” Albanese couldn’t control his laughter and responded, “Well, India, you know.”

Virat Kohli smashes 30th Test ton

The modern-day great batter, Virat Kohli, smashed his 30th ton in the first Test which was played in Perth. The right-handed batter looked confident throughout the innings which helped him to achieve the milestone. Kohli will head into the 2nd Test with more confidence now, however, the match will be played in a day-night format with the pink kookaburra ball, so it’s going to be hard for Kohli and other batters to score runs.

Apart from Kohli, young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal also smashed a hundred and helped to achieve a monument total. KL Rahul was in a great touch in both innings. The Men in Blue defeated the Kangaroos by a huge margin of 295 runs. However, the Player of the Match award was given to India’s stand-in skipper, Jasprit Bumrah.

The star pacer was a key player in India’s victory as he dismantled Australia’s batting lineup in the first innings and claimed his 11th five-wicket haul. He continued his dominance and took 3 wickets in the 2nd innings as well. But, as Rohit has arrived back in Australia, he will be replacing Bumrah as the skipper for the rest of the series.
