The Pakistan Cricket Team was seen attending a two-week training session at the Pakistan Military Academy in Kakul. The Pakistan Board arranged this training session to help players gain more discipline and excel at international levels. The decision was taken keeping the T20 World Cup 2024 in mind where the players will be travelling to the West Indies and the USA. Moreover, the PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi visited the camp to meet the players amidst their training sessions.

Kakul is a union council and village located in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province's Kakul Valley. At a height of 1300 meters, it is located 5 kilometres north of Abbottabad City next to the Thandiani Hills. This is also the location of the Pakistan Military Academy where the players are undergoing various drills and exercises. The camp was organised for 29 players along with some big names like fast bowlers Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf, Mohammad Amir, Naseem Shah, Babar Azam and many more.

Recently, the Pakistan Board removed their white-ball captain Shaheen Afridi from captaincy and reappointed Babar Azam. After having a bad series against New Zealand where they lost the series, 1-4, Afridi was sacked. Moreover, his performance wasn't that great in PSL as well. Since the T20 World Cup is approaching, the Board decided to take a bold decision by bringing back the former captain into action.
