The Pakistan Cricket Team was seen taking Military drills at the Army camp. This practice session is for two weeks at the Army School of Physical Training (ASPT) in Kakul. The video posted on social media went viral as the players were seen doing rigorous training sessions, which was organised by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

Ahead of the T20 World Cup, the Board is looking at the fitness aspect of the team which seems as a positive sign. The Pakistan team has a few players who are physically unfit to be in the team even though they are great at batting or bowling. Thus, this initiative by PCB might improve the playing conditions of the team which will help them in the future.

Recently, Pakistan lost a T20 series against New Zealand, 1-4. The team's performance was below par throughout the series as they failed to win more than one match. Moreover, the Pakistan team is gearing up for one last series against New Zealand before the T20 World Cup 2024 starts on June 2.

Shaheen Afridi sacked from Pakistan team's captaincy; Babar Azam returns as captain

After losing the T20 series against New Zealand, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to reappoint Babar Azam as Pakistan's white-ball captain. This decision has come keeping the upcoming T20 World Cup in mind. Shaheen Afridi's captaincy wasn't very impressive during the series against New Zealand and the PSL.

Babar returns to captaincy just four months after he stepped down from captaincy. The Board has asked him to concentrate on the T20 World Cup as of now. Post that, they might reconsider him for the Test captaincy considering Shan Masood's performance as a captain. Hence, for Babar, the upcoming four months are quite crucial.
