All Asian teams to have qualified for T20 World Cup 2026

Overview

• India and Sri Lanka qualified for the T20 World Cup 2026 on the virtue of being the joint hosts
• While Afghanistan and Bangladesh qualified as they made it to Super 8 in 2024, Pakistan qualified for the tournament through rankings
• Nepal, Oman, and the United Arab Emirates qualified through the Asia-Pacific Qualifiers round

All 20 teams taking part in the T20 World Cup 2026 have been finalized. Following the Asia-Pacific Qualifier round, the final list of teams to be a part of the T20 World Cup is out. Italy scripted history by making it to the T20 World Cup for the first time. There are a few other teams from Asia who will be playing their first-ever T20 World Cup.

In total, eight teams have qualified from Asia for the T20 World Cup 2026. Three of them qualified on the basis of the Qualifying round, while two teams qualified based on their presence in the Super 8 stage of the T20 WC 2024 and hosting the T20 World Cup 2026, respectively, while one team qualified through the ICC team rankings.

All Asian teams to have qualified for T20 World Cup 2026

United Arab Emirates

UAE will be playing its first-ever T20 World Cup in the main round. They qualified after finishing in the Top 3 in the Asia-Pacific qualifiers round. UAE had also qualified for the Asia Cup 2025, which helped them in the T20 World Cup Qualifiers.

Oman

Oman qualified for the T20 World Cup for the second time in a row. They performed well in the Asia Cup 2025, especially in the match against India, which helped them to gain the much-needed confidence to qualify through the qualifiers for the T20 World Cup 2026.

Nepal

Much like Oman, Nepal was able to qualify for its second consecutive T20 World Cup in a row. Going into the Asia-Pacific qualifiers, they were the favorites to qualify and proved it right with their performance. After not qualifying for the Asia Cup, Nepal has got a redemption.

Pakistan

Pakistan qualified to the T20 World Cup 2026 on the virtue of the T20I team rankings. As they were ranked amongst the ten best teams in the world, Pakistan earned its qualification for the tournament.

Bangladesh

Bangladesh qualified for the T20 World Cup 2026 after making it to the Super 8 stage of the T20 World Cup 2024. The Southern Asian team will be eyeing to make it to its first-ever semifinal in the T20 World Cup history.

Afghanistan

Afghanistan scripted history during the T20 World Cup 2024 by becoming only the fourth Asian team to enter the semifinal. It was enough for them to earn a spot in the T20 World Cup 2026. Given the Asia Cup 2025 wasn't good, Afghanistan will be eyeing to make a comeback in the T20 WC 2026.

Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka had a poor performance in the T20 World Cup 2024, where they could not even qualify for the Super 8. However, since the T20 World Cup 2026 will be jointly hosted by them along with India, the 2014 Champions earned a spot in the tenth edition of the tournament.

India

India earned its qualification through winning the T20 World Cup 2024. Apart from that, they're also the hosts of the tournament, which gave them an automatic qualification spot. India will be hoping to not just defend the title, but also win its first T20 World Cup at home.
