BCCI announced India's 15-member squad for the Asia Cup 2025 and 5 players in the standby. Shubman Gill and Jitesh Sharma returned to the squad, following their performance in the IPL 2025. Interestingly, the Indian Test captain has been named the T20 vice captain. Likewise, there were some of the major snubs from the squad, who deserved to get picked.
The squad has received mixed opinions from the fans and the experts. Some of the players who deserved an excpetional performance in the IPL 2025 did not get picked up. Some of the players who had a mediocre IPL season have been backed due to their international performances. However, some obvious picks have been out of the squad, which have raised a lot of questions on the selection committee.

3 deserving players who missed out of India's Asia Cup 2025 Squad
Prasidh Krishna
Prasidh Krishna was the leading wicket taker in the IPL 2025, as he claimed 25 wickets in 15 matches at an average of 19.52 and a great strike rate of 14.16. Skillfully, he was brilliant with his change of lengths, variation of pace, and seam bowling. Yet, the right-arm pacer could not find a spot in the Indian Team.

Shreyas Iyer
Shreyas Iyer was one of the best middle order batters in the IPL 2025. He was exceptional as a skipper and took PBKS to their first final in 11 years. Iyer scored 604 runs in 17 innings at an average of 50.33 and an exceptional strike rate of 175.07. The surprising fact is that Iyer is not even listed amongst the stadby players, let alone in the main squad.

Yashasvi Jaiswal
The biggest snub of the Indian Asia Cup 2025 squad announcement was Yashasvi Jaiswal, who had everything going in his favor. Jaiswal left no stone unturned, be it his current form, his terrific IPL 2025 season, or his performances in T20Is. The Southpaw, however, could not impress the selectors despite having the best resume.
