The 19th match of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 will witness the five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) clashing against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on Monday, April 7. Mumbai’s iconic Wankhede Stadium will be hosting the clash, which is MI’s home ground as well. The Hardik Pandya-led side are at the eighth position in the points table with three losses and only one win in the four matches they’ve played so far.
On the other hand, the Rajat Patidar-led RCB side had a dream start to their IPL 2025 campaign with two wins and one loss in the three matches they’ve played so far. They lost their last match, which was played on their home ground against the Gujarat Titans (GT). However, they would like to get back to their winning run by beating MI in their own backyard.
Since both MI and RCB are one of the oldest sides of the league, there have been multiple players who have represented both franchises in their IPL careers. One of the notable players to have been part of both MI and RCB as a player is none other than Zaheer Khan. The legendary left–arm seamer has been an integral part of both franchises. That said, let’s take at the top three active players who have played for both MI and RCB.

He was later signed by MI during the 2022 IPL mega auction for Rs 8.25 crore and made an instant impact in his first year for the franchise, scoring 186 runs at a strike rate of 216. However, he was released by the franchise ahead of the 2025 auction, after which RCB secured his services and is playing for the Rajat Patidar-led side in the ongoing season.

The star English all-rounder, Will Jacks, started his IPL career in 2024 after getting picked by RCB. He had a decent first IPL season, scoring 230 runs in eight innings at a strike rate of 175.57. But surprisingly, he wasn’t retained by RCB for the 2025 IPL season, and many fans didn’t like the decision. The right-handed batter was bought by MI in the 2025 IPL auction but hasn’t been very effective in the season so far.
