The Dallas Mavericks had won the southwest division and will begin the NBA playoffs against the LA Clippers for the third time in five years. Just a night before Dallas Mavericks defeated the Miami Heat by 111-92. Dallas Mavericks not only won their sixth division title in team history, but also achieved its second 50-win season in three years.

Dallas Mavericks attack was led by Luka Doncic as he scored 29 points, nine assists and nine rebounds. While his teammate Kyrie Irving scored 25 points, four assists, took two steals and three rebounds. After the win against Miami Heat Kryrie Irving revealed how he felt that Dallas Mavericks have made into playoffs after missing out in last season.

According to SI.com, Kyrie Irving stated, “It means a great deal because that was the first time I had dealt with failure at that type of level. Part of the human experience is not negotiating with yourself about what you want to achieve, it’s just going after it and I think that’s what we did this season."

Even though the Dallas Mavericks have booked their place in playoffs they aim to not win the NBA title. On Tuesday in Charlotte, Daniel Gafford channelled the late, great Kobe Bryant by declaring, "The job's not done," which Irving reiterated in Miami on Wednesday.

We're looking forward to that challenge - Kyrie Irving

According to SI.com Kryire Irving said, “We know the job isn’t finished and we’re just getting started." "We’ve done it in the regular season, that’s good and dandy, but now this is where the grown-ups start to use their IQ, start to use their emotional intelligence, their physical intangibles, and may the best man win.”

However, the Dallas Mavericks in the first-round playoff series have lost six and seven games in 2020 and 2021 against the LA Clippers. A lot of things have changed now, while LA Clippers have Paul George, James Harden and Kawhi Leonard. Dallas Mavericks also have star squad who can get through playoffs to face their old rivals. When questioned about facing LA Clippers Kryire Irving said, "We're looking forward to that challenge."
