Caitlin Clark, the rising women's basketball sensation, is known for making waves on the court. However, a video of her appearing on the SNL show and roasting host Michael Che is going viral on social media. She took her talents to Saturday Night Live (SNL) to deliver a comedic slam dunk. During her appearance on the iconic Weekend Update segment, Clark wasted no time in roasting host Michael Che, showing that her sharp wit is as deadly as her three-point shots.
The segment kicked off when Clark addressed Che's history of making jokes about women's sports. In classic SNL fashion, the humour took a sharp turn when Che denied the accusation. This led co-anchor Colin Jost to step in with a perfectly timed supercut, providing plenty of evidence that Che had indeed made quite a few quips at the expense of women athletes.
Here is the video:
But the real showstopper came when Clark took control of the narrative, writing new jokes for Che. What followed was a series of self-deprecating lines that Che had no choice but to read out loud, much to the audience's amusement. One joke hit particularly hard: “Che’s comedy special on Netflix is harder to watch than Ripley,” referencing the Andrew Scott series.
Clark continues to be in the headlines!
Clark's comedic takedown didn’t stop there. She capped the roast by handing Che an autographed apron—an on-point response to his earlier jab about Clark “switching her retired jersey number for an apron.”
The segment ended on a heartfelt note as Clark paid tribute to the trailblazing women athletes who came before her, acknowledging that they “kicked down the door, so [she] could walk inside.”
Not only did Caitlin Clark prove herself a formidable opponent on the basketball court, but she also showed she could effortlessly take on the world of comedy with just as much skill and charm. She might want to be more careful with his jokes next time!
