Carlos Alcaraz gave Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors some appreciation. The Spaniard showered the four-time NBA champion affectionately during the US Open in a recent ESPN interview. After defeating Li Tiu in the first round of the tournament, Alcaraz is getting ready to face the Dutchman Botic van de Zandschulp again in the second round.

Carlos Alcaraz discussed in the interview how hard it was to continue to achieve a constant level of success and how he aspired to be like Curry in the basketball world. "I've watched Steph Curry play in real life... I'm trying to do the same things as he's doing in the basketball court, but it is difficult. Probably same games, same feelings that we try to put joy on games," Carlos Alcaraz said.

Stephen Curry recently made his Team USA debut and took home the gold medal at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. With a revamped Warriors team, the 36-year-old is now prepared for a challenging 2024–25 campaign.

Curry's and Golden State Warriors' 2023–24 campaign was disappointing as they were unable to qualify for the playoffs. The Warriors are now two seasons away from winning a championship, and as the guard approaches his senior year, the club will try to make some midseason adjustments to get back into contention.

Klay Thompson joins the Dallas Mavericks

Steph Curry earlier stoked trade rumours by replacing the Warriors in his Instagram bio with the phrase "Olympic gold medalist." However, the rumours quickly ended as of this writing, the shooter is anticipated to play for the Dubs. When they go for another title, only time will tell if the front office can add the appropriate pieces and maybe a well-known player to go with their franchise hero.

For the Golden State Warriors, Klay Thompson's trade to the Dallas Mavericks is undoubtedly a setback. The departure of the four-time NBA champions will put further weight on Steph Curry to lead the club's offensive campaign, and both the squad and the player will need to go through a transition phase when Buddy Hield and Kyle Anderson join the team.
