A remarkable record was set by rookie Caitlin Clark of the Indiana Fever at the end of the WNBA season. Clark became the most prolific point guard scorer in WNBA history during the Fever's 92-91 defeat to the Washington Mystics. Eight points, eight assists, and five rebounds were her final game totals in the defeat. 

Christie Sides rested her starting lineup in anticipation of the playoffs, which meant that Clark played with few substitutions. Her 20 minutes of gameplay were limited. Now, Clark adds another honor to her extensive resume. Among her feats are the most points scored by a rookie in WNBA history, the most assists, the most three-pointers made, and now the most points scored by a point guard.

Caitlin Clark, a rookie guard with the Indiana Fever, wasn't going to let the regular season end without making yet another incredible 3-pointer. This effort occurred on Thursday night when the Fever played the Mystics in Washington to end the regular season. Clark had a fantastic look from directly in front of the Washington midcourt logo and made the three-pointer to extend Indiana's early advantage.

Clark was averaging 19.5 points, 8.4 assists, and 5.7 rebounds per game coming into the game against the Mystics. She had a significant advantage over other rookies in both average and total points. The youngster hasn't only been a danger to score, though. At barely 22 years old, she leads the WNBA in average assists, demonstrating her versatility as one of the league's most versatile players.

Indiana Fever playing in playoffs after 2016

It takes incredible poise to make a basket from that distance, but Clark has demonstrated this trait often this season with the Fever. Enjoy this moment while Indiana prepares for the playoffs as the sixth seed; we'll still have opportunities to see Clark make long-range baskets. Even though Indiana Fever's defense has been suspect throughout the season, their offense has been strong, and that has contributed to them earning the No. 6 seed for the first time since 2016.
