On September 15, Sunday, the Indiana Fever had to battle to defeat the Dallas Wings. Even though Caitlin Clark and company were the favorites to win on their home court going into the game, the Wings did not give up easily. Finally, Indiana won their first game in three, a much-needed 110-109 triumph at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. But in this one, it's safe to say Dallas pushed them to the limit.
Speaking of pushing and shoving, Teaira McCowan of the Wings got into a furious argument with Caitlin Clark and a few other Fever players during the game. This occurred during a backward shove by the Dallas center on Fever forward Aliyah Boston. Temi Fagbenle, a teammate, and Clark responded fast, leaping to Boston's defense.
After McCowan shoved Aliyah Boston, both Fagbenle and Clark hurried to shield her. Aliyah's Indiana teammates were already in the way, so she never had a chance to confront McCowan. McCowan left after seemingly speaking with the Fever youngster, indicating that she was not satisfied with Clark's involvement in this instance. Fortunately, the altercation did not get worse when the Dallas center was called for a technical foul.
Watch here the video:
Caitlin sees the replay and crashes out. Kelsey throws that arm out. Aliyah points to the ref to say “we good” then she grabs Caitlin’s face and screams “NO NO” Erica puts in a shift at the end. NO TECH. Caitlin gotta give an end of season gift bc 😭😭😭 pic.twitter.com/0kiIWRxcn9

Indiana Fever last played WNBA Finals in 2015
This just serves to highlight how prepared the Fever players are to fight side by side. With this group, it's all or nothing and these girls are not to be taken lightly, even with their impression of young energy. The scariest nightmare scenario for Indiana Fever was unveiled on Tuesday, and it involves a possible 2024 Playoffs meeting with the club that Sides and Clark most definitely do not want to see.
Before Clark joined the squad, coming off of a collegiate career as the NCAA's all-time top scorer, her team had not made the playoffs in seven consecutive seasons. 2015 saw the Fever make it to the WNBA Finals before falling to the Lynx, three games to two. That was the last time Indiana has won a postseason series.
