Ben Simmons, a Brooklyn Nets veteran, was insulted by a fan following Friday's game against the Orlando Magic. Simmons passed a few Magic supporters on his way to the locker room after the game. A fan could be heard yelling at him as he went by, "trash." When the fan asked Simmons why he hadn't said it on the court, Simmons yelled back at him. His teammate Dennis Schroder also turned to face the spectators and inquired as to Simmons's smack talker.

Sometimes, though, a fan has gone too far, and players react. Security was fortunately present to stop things from getting worse. Ben Simmons may have performed worse against the Magic due to the strain of performing in front of an unfriendly audience. He made two of his five shots in his roughly twenty-four minutes of activity.
Brooklyn Nets took control of the game
In addition, he scored seven points overall by making three of four free throws. In addition, he had three assists, one rebound, one block, and six rebounds. He turned the ball over four times as well. He did not score in double figures, making him the first Nets starter to do so. Simmons played a quiet game, which could have contributed to his team losing by 15 points.
