Victor Wembanyama makes history in NBA, joins San Antonio Spurs legend as the second player ever on Exclusive List

Victor Wembanyama's newest achievement made history for the San Antonio Spurs. The Frenchman just equalled team icon Tim Duncan's rookie season record of nearly 1400 points and 700 rebounds.

Victor Wembanyama's newest achievement made history for the San Antonio Spurs. The Frenchman just equalled team icon Tim Duncan's rookie season record of nearly 1400 points and 700 rebounds. This showed his talent, as the 20-year-old became only the second player in history to make the select list.

In the game against Denver Nuggets Victor Wembanyama scored double-double of 23 points, 15 rebounds and 8 assists. Currently, he has scored 1420 points, 248 assists and 706 rebounds. This feat is making him close to Duncan’s season record as he can get added to the list. Big Fundamental put the NBA on notice during the 1997/98 season, scoring 1,731 points and grabbing 977 rebounds. According to Jordan Howenstine, 26 years later, Wemby has come close to reaching the milestone.

Meanwhile, Victor Wembanyama is being compared to Tim Duncan. Many fans think that he couldn’t live up to his potential. While Tim Duncan's efforts gave him the ROTY award in 1998 and laid the foundation of greatness. While Victor Wembanyama is on the same track and is the face of the team San Antonio Spurs.

Victor Wembanyama equalled Diesel's feat

In recent times Victor Wembanyama has caught the attention of the NBA community. On 27th March 2024 Victor Wembanyama achieved the milestone of 300 stocks (79 steals and 221 blocks). He is the only second player in the NBA after Shaquille O’Neal to do so. 

Just two days later, Victor Wembanyama equalled Diesel's feat. Victor Wembanyama is the first rookie to score 40 points and 20 rebounds in a single game, which occurred on February 16, 1993, for the Orlando Magic. According to NBA.com, Victor Wembanyama equalled Shaq on the list after scoring 40 points and pulling down 20 rebounds against the New York Knicks.

Victor Wembanyama is heading towards greatness and will be one of the best players in the coming years.
