Jayson Tatum is an unapologetic Kobe Bryant lover. The Boston Celtics superstar has stated multiple times throughout the years that he admired the iconic late Los Angeles Lakers great. With the 2024 NBA Finals starting on Thursday, Tatum-Bryant jokes are already circulating.

A phone Bryant discussion with Tatum appeared about an hour before the Celtics' first game against the Dallas Mavericks. This first appeared in the 2022 finals between the Celtics and the Golden State Warriors.

Tatum's dismal championship round against the Celtics sparked jokes about how "KB24" would have been ashamed of the performances of Boston's franchise cornerstone.

Jayson Tatum sees the 2024 NBA Finals as a "second chance" for him and the Boston Celtics. He and Jaylen Brown have frequently stated that the championship series was a learning lesson for them. They were unable to return to the same level in 2023, but they are now back where they believed they had a chance to redeem themselves.

The false Tatum-Bryant chats will most certainly continue until Boston's All-NBA forward leads his side to victory. Failure, on the other hand, will result in additional memes that mercilessly mock and humiliate Tatum.

Kobe Bryant would have been proud of Jayson Tatum's performance

After a tense first six minutes of Game 1, Jayson Tatum and Boston Celtics raced to the finish. Kristaps Porzingis, who hadn't played since Game 4 against the Miami Heat in the first round, destroyed his former teammates. The Latvian scored 11 points in the first quarter, giving the Cs a commanding 37-20 advantage after 12 minutes.

Kobe Bryant would have been pleased with how Tatum's Celtics began, but he would also have been curious whether Boston could hang on. Dallas is not going to wilt or give up after 12 minutes. They didn't get to the finals without demonstrating tenacity and resilience. "KB24" would be prouder if the Celtics raced to the finish line.

Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics are hoping to redeem themselves. If he succeeds this time, the All-Star forward will be able to put a stop to the false Bryant talks aimed at him.
