Team USA announces squad for Paris Olympics: Reports

USA Basketball had finalised the majority of their lineup for the Paris Olympics, including Stephen Curry, who will be making his debut appearance.

USA Basketball had finalised the majority of their lineup for the Paris Olympics, including Stephen Curry, who will be making his debut appearance. 

The USA team will be, managed by managing director Grant Hill, who has secured 11 of 12 roster seats, leaving one open following a training camp in July. 

The roster also includes Los Angeles Lakers players LeBron James and Anthony Davis, as well as Phoenix Suns players Kevin Durant and Devin Booker. James is set to make his first Olympic participation since 2012, and his fourth overall.

According to sources, the other squad members locked in include Jayson Tatum and Jrue Holiday of the Boston Celtics, Anthony Edwards of the Minnesota Timberwolves, Bam Adebayo of the Miami Heat, and Tyrese Haliburton of the Indiana Pacers.

Stephen Curry was not chosen for the 2012 London Games squad, which took place after his third year in the NBA and before he rose to become one of the league's top shooters. He withdrew from contention for the team in 2016 owing to several persistent ailments and declined the 2021 Tokyo Games.

High Stakes: Team USA gears up for Olympics with strong NBA support

Team USA will be led by Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr, with assistance from Los Angeles Clippers coach Tyronn Lue, Heat coach Erik Spoelstra, and Gonzaga coach Mark Few.

The United States men's basketball team has competed in the Olympics 19 times, earning 19 medals (16 gold, 1 silver, and 2 bronze). During the FIBA World Cup 2023, Team USA did not win any medals. However, this time big players from all the teams in the NBA have shown interest in the Paris Olympics

Ahead of the offseason Team USA will look to take on the aim to win the Olympics. While defending FIBA World Cup champions Germany will also look to get back their main players for the Paris Olympics. In the FIBA World Cup Serbia won the silver medal in the absence of Nikola Jokic. While San Antonio Spurs star player Victor Wembanyama will be in France's team for the Olympics.
