Stephen Curry scores 33 points as Golden State Warriors defeat San Antonio Spurs for fourth consecutive win

On Sunday night at Frost Bank Centre Golden State Warriors won over San Antonio 117-113. Stephen Curry scored his game-high 33 points in the win and Draymond Green also contributed by scoring 21 points, 11 assists six rebounds, and six steals.

On Sunday night at Frost Bank Centre Golden State Warriors won over San Antonio 117-113. Stephen Curry scored his game-high 33 points in the win and Draymond Green also contributed to this by scoring 21 points, 11 assists six rebounds, and six steals. Golden State Warrior took a 13-point deficit and turned it into a 13-point lead with just four minutes in the game. Stephen Curry had 12 for 23 from the field as he hit seven three-pointers out of 15 attempts.

The second half was opened by Golden State Warrior who scored back-to-back 3-pointers as they took the lead 14-0. Going into the third quarter San Antonio Spurs were leading by 37-21. Later with just 9:39 minutes left in the third quarter, Draymond Green and Stephen Curry made the lead to 66-60. Only 59 seconds left as the Golden State Warriors were leading 113-102 San Antonio scored nine points to make it a two-point Golden State Warriors advantage.

However, a Klay Thompson 3-pointer after an offensive rebound by Draymond Green extended the Warriors' advantage to two possessions in the final minute. Following two Victor Wembanyama free throws, Draymond Green sealed the game in the final seconds with a free throw, giving the Dubs a four-point advantage.

“Draymond was incredible tonight,” Kerr said. “That was a defensive masterpiece. The offensive board at the end with the Klay three probably was the play of the game. You watch that game, Draymond is a genius defensively.”

San Antonio Spurs broke their previous record of 3-pointers in a season. In 2022 their record was 925 and, in this season, their record is 941. With seven games still left San Antonio Spurs will face Denver Nuggets and Golden State Warriors will take on Dallas Mavericks in their next game.
