Dwight Howard has increased his efforts to attract NBA players for Taiwan's T1 league. The 2020 NBA champion is leading fans to believe that he is targeting his former LA Lakers teammates Anthony Davis and LeBron James on the next list.

Howard resorted to social media to announce that he had already recruited an NBA champion for the T1 league. Howard shared a photo of himself on his X account, with Anthony Davis and LeBron James standing behind him, having won a championship with Howard in Los Angeles.

He shared a link to his program "Above The Rim with DH12" and challenged followers to identify which NBA winner he could be referring to. It was clearly clickbait since Howard had not persuaded any of the future Hall of Famers to play for the Taiwan Mustangs.

Howard eventually disclosed the identity on his show: Quinn Cook. Cook, another teammate during the Laker's 2020 championship run, is a two-time NBA champion, having won his first title with the Golden State Warriors in 2018.

On the list, there was also the name DeMarcus Cousins. Since sustaining an Achilles rupture in 2018, the NBA big man has struggled to find work in the league. Following his recovery, he played for the Warriors, Lakers, and Nuggets before being dismissed by each. Cousins and Cook will join the Taiwan Mustangs in July to play in The Asian Tournament.

Monty Williams names appear for coaching role

Dwight Howard will not stop until he has sucked out every upset player and coach in the NBA. The NBA champion has been singling out NBA players who have been fired or discarded from their teams. Monty Williams, former coach of the Detroit Pistons, is his newest bait.

Williams was fired by the Detroit Pistons following just one season of a league-high $78.5 million, six-year deal. Dwight Howard wasted no time in putting on his general manager outfit and giving Williams another coaching job in the Taiwan league, but only under certain conditions.

Detroit Pistons went 14-68 during Williams' tenure in 2023-24. It was the ninth poorest record in NBA history, with a franchise-record 16 consecutive defeats. Some questioned William's coaching during the season, even though his name had been floated as one of the top candidates to fill coaching positions in Cleveland and Los Angeles before the ladder chose JJ Redick. He may also be highly sought after as an assistant until another head coaching position becomes available.
