Stephen Curry praises Russell Westbrook and his family for his new project

On Tuesday, Russell Westbrook departed early for Denver, where he will arrive on time for Thursday's media day with his new team. Westbrook joined the Denver Nuggets this summer after playing for his home teams - Los Angeles for the previous three seasons. Westbrook inaugurated the Westbrook Academy site in South Gate recently on his final day in Los Angeles for the offseason. 

At a ribbon-cutting ceremony, Russell Westbrook commemorated this momentous day with his family, partners of the Why Not? Foundation, and more than four hundred children. The event on Monday made it clear that students were encouraged to enhance their mental health and wellness. The Westbrook Academy building features two wellness facilities intended to foster academic and personal growth in addition to scientific labs, a film studio, a student lounge/library, and more.

Following the growth of his academy in Los Angeles, NBA player Stephen Curry, star of the Golden State Warriors, congratulated Denver Nuggets player Russell Westbrook. Curry expressed their respect and appreciation for Westbrook, his former opponent, despite the fierce animosity that characterizes their post season battles. Along with the LA Promise Fund, Russell Westbrook and his wife Nina have worked to expand Westbrook Academy in Los Angeles.

Over 400 middle and high school students get instruction at the institution. Stepehen Curry sent a happy comment on Instagram in response to the announcement of the academy's growth, emphasizing the need of establishing welcoming environments for the achievement of young people: "Congrats Russell and Nina, and the whole family!" said Curry. In some of the most thrilling postseason games in recent memory, Stephen Curry and Russell Westbrook were the stars.

Their rivalry grew more intense, particularly during NBA 2016 season Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Golden State Warriors Western Conference Finals series. Despite their fierce competition on the field, Curry and Westbrook have showed respect for one another off the court. Both athletes are honored for their charitable endeavors and dedication to the community.
