Seattle Storm re-signs Gabby Williams after her performance in Paris Olympics

Basketball: Seattle Storm has welcomed back Gabby Williams. Williams, who earlier this month assisted France in winning a silver medal at the Olympics, signed a deal with the Storm for the remainder of the season on Tuesday.

Seattle Storm has welcomed back Gabby Williams, who earlier this month assisted France in winning a silver medal at the Olympics. She has also signed a deal with the Storm for the remainder of the season on Tuesday. When the Storm return from their current road trip the following week, she will begin to play. She was acquired by Seattle Storm in a trade with Los Angeles before the 2022 season began, and it is going to be her third season there.

“We’re thrilled to have Gabby back with the Storm.” “Gabby is a dynamic player who brings tremendous versatility. She’s a two-way player who can guard multiple positions and has a strong offensive game; given her familiarity with our system, we know she can have an immediate impact. Gabby’s Olympic performance showcased her world-class talent, and we’re excited to have her join us as we push for the playoffs,” said coach Noelle Quinn as per AP News.

Williams had a fantastic tournament for France, averaging 15.5 points, 4.7 rebounds, 4.8 assists, and 2.8 steals. She almost pulled off the shock against the United States in the gold medal game with 19 points, five of which came in the last few seconds. In 2022, Williams was outstanding, averaging 7.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 1.5 steals per game while starting all 36 games.

“I’m so excited to be joining the Storm for the rest of the season. I feel more than ready to finally return to Seattle. I’ve missed the organization, my teammates and the fans so much. I absolutely can’t wait to come back and finish the season strong,” said Williams,” as per AP News.

 As of Tuesday, Seattle (17-10) is presently ranked fifth in the WNBA rankings. Midway through the 2023 season, she re-signed with the squad after missing the first few games due to an injury. In 10 games that season, she averaged 8.4 points, 3.8 assists, and 3.6 rebounds. In 2018 Gabby Williams was drafted by Chicago Sky but later was traded to LA Sparks in 2021 and in 2022 she was traded to Seattle Storm.
