If Jimmy Butler wants more money, Pat Riley will want to see more action. In basic terms, that marks the Miami Heat's offseason start.

Jimmy Butler is almost probably going to ask the Heat for a two-year deal this summer, which could pay him up to $113 million for the 2025-26 and 2026-27 seasons, and Riley acknowledged Monday in his annual end-of-season statements that he is unsure what the team will do when that time comes.

As per AP News, Pat Riley said, “We have not discussed that internally right now.” “We have to look at making that kind of commitment and when we do it. We don’t have to do it until 2025. But we’ll see. We haven’t decided on it, and we haven’t really in earnest discussed it.”

Miami Heat will weigh a variety of things, including Butler's playing time. He is, without a doubt, an outstanding player whose tenure in Miami has been filled with memorable performances, particularly in the playoffs. But he turns 35 in September and has missed 100 regular-season games in his five seasons with Miami, sitting out about 26% of the time due to injuries, rest, or other reasons.

Jimmy Butler an incredible player - Pat Riley

The Heat will look at several criteria, including Butler's playing time. He is, without a doubt, an outstanding player whose tenure in Miami has been filled with standout performances, particularly in the playoffs. However, he will turn 35 in September and has missed 100 regular season games in his five seasons with Miami, sitting out roughly 26% of the time due to injury, rest, or other reasons.

He injured his knee during the play-in tournament this season, missing Miami's five-game Round 1 playoff loss to Boston. Riley talked for roughly 40 minutes, much of which focused on Butler, and he praised Miami's highest-paid player several times, including stating he "moves the needle the most" and is "an incredible player." Butler's five seasons with the Heat have resulted in 268 total victories, the fifth-most in the NBA, and two trips to the NBA Finals
