New York Knicks defeats Philadelphia 76ers to lead playoff series by 2-0

On Monday night with just 13 seconds left to end the game Donte DiVincenzo scoring a 3-pointer helped the New York Knicks to defeat the Philadelphia 76ers by 104-101 as the New York Knicks took a 2-0 lead in the first round of the playoff series.

On Monday night with just 13 seconds left to end the game Donte DiVincenzo scoring a 3-pointer helped the New York Knicks to defeat the Philadelphia 76ers by 104-101 as the New York Knicks took a 2-0 lead in the first round of the playoff series.

With the last 30 seconds remaining New York Knicks were behind five points and were losing the game on their home court but Jalen Brunson started a rally of points and got a shot to fall after an otherwise awful night. Jalen Brunson's scoring three-pointer helped the New York Knicks to cut the gap by 101-99 with 27 seconds left in the last quarter.

Josh Hart grabbed the ball from Tyrese Maxey and returned it to the Knicks, but DiVincenzo missed a 3-pointer. Isaiah Hartenstein collected the rebound and gave it to OG Anunoby, who returned it to DiVincenzo, who sank the shot to make the score 102-101. Hartenstein then blocked Maxey's drive, Anunoby scored two free throws, and the Knicks held on when Joel Embiid missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer. 

Donte DiVincenzo gave them the breakthrough

However, for New York Knicks Donte DiVincenzo scored 19 points, Josh Hart scored 21 points and 15 rebounds and Jalen Bruson got 24 points. For Philadelphia 76ers Tyrese Maxey scored 35 points, 10 assists, and nine rebounds and Joel Embiid scored 34 points and 10 rebounds. Hart scored 19 points in the first half to keep the Knicks in the game, but they didn't take the lead until four minutes into the third quarter. 

Philadelphia 76ers thought that they had sealed the game as Tyrese Maxey got 15 points in the fourth quarter his three-pointer had them lead by 100-96 with 1:09 minutes left and Kyle Lowry scored a free throw with 47 seconds left as there was silence at Madison Square Garden. But after some time, Donte DiVincenzo gave them the breakthrough as they took a 2-0 lead in the playoff series. This was the first time since 2013 they are leading the series.

Game 3 of the playoff series between both teams will take place on Thursday.
