Joel Embiid guides Philadelphia 76ers to a 116-96 victory over Memphis Grizzlies

On Saturday night Philadelphia 76ers defeated Memphis Grizzlies by 116-96 as Kelly Oubre Jr. scored 17 points and Joel Embiid scored 30 points and 12 rebounds from just 23 minutes of play. Embiid was 9 for 13 from the field, hitting both of his three-point tries. He checked out with seven minutes left in the third quarter, and coach Nick Nurse saw no need for him to return as Philadelphia maintained a comfortable lead in the second half on its way to a fourth consecutive victory.

While for Memphis Grizzlies Scotty Pippen Jr. took the charge as he scored 24 points while GG Jackson scored 17 points, Jordan Goodwin scored 15 and Maozinha Pereira scored 13 points and 11 rebounds. But in the first half, it looks like the Memphis Grizzlies had no answer for Joel Embiid. As Joel Embiid scored 22 points on 7-of-10 shooting and added 10 rebounds as the Philadelphia 76ers led 62-42 at halftime. Memphis Grizzlies shot only 2 of 12 from beyond the arc, contributing to the Grizzlies' 37% shooting rate.

Philadelphia 76ers has improved since Embiid's comeback 

In the second quarter, the Philadelphia 76ers dominated Memphis 34-19 as the Grizzlies made little progress but never closed the lead. By the end of the third quarter, Memphis Grizzlies components lacked offensive punch, and they trailed 86-70. With victory guaranteed, Embiid rested for the majority of the fourth quarter and ended with 30 points, 12 rebounds, and two blocks.

Philadelphia 76ers has improved since Embiid's comeback from knee surgery and is attempting to avoid play-in games.
