The Knicks finished 50-32, their greatest season since 54-28, and earned the No. 2 seed in 2012-13. They got past Milwaukee, who lost earlier Sunday in Orlando, and now await the winner of the play-in game between the Philadelphia 76ers and Miami Heat on Wednesday.

Jalen Brunson ended with 40 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists, tying Patrick Ewing for the second most 40-point games in a single season by a Knicks player. Bernard King, a Hall of Famer, accomplished it 13 times during the 1984-85 season, setting a team record of 32.9 points per game. Brunson ended with 28.7 points, tying Carmelo Anthony for third.

Chicago Bull's charge was led by Donte DiVincenzo who scored 25 points while his teammate DeMar DeRozan scored 30 points, Coby White scored 26 points and Nikola Vucevic scored 29 points and 11 rebounds.

Chicago Bulls finishes in ninth spot in the Eastern Conference

Chicago Bulls ended in ninth spot in the Eastern Conference with a 39-43 record and will visit No. 10 Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday. If they win, the Bulls will need to defeat the winner of the No. 7 vs. No. 8 game on the road on Friday to secure the No. 8 seed in the playoffs.

Despite having one of the few playoff situations decided before the last day of the regular season, the Bulls chose to play their healthy players throughout the game. Coach Billy Donovan said Ayo Dosunmu (bruised right quadricep) and Andre Drummond (sprained left ankle) were still in agony and discomfort, and it was unclear whether either would be ready for Wednesday's win-or-lose game.
