The Los Angeles Lakers are likely to think of Anthony Davis as a franchise cornerstone for the foreseeable future. However, with the team failing to earn an outright postseason berth this season, some in the league may ask whether the Lakers should consider trading Davis after the 2023-24 season. According to reports, certain members of the team want the team to start from scratch.

According to Bleacher Report NBA General manager stated that, "There's one team that fits all of those, and that's the Knicks." "It would not be hard to make a deal work there. You can line up the salaries. You can package a ton of picks. You can throw in a young player. You can take on a salary the Lakers might not want. I mean, he is one player and you can get a huge haul here."

In 2019 Anthony Davis joined Los Angeles Lakers. In 75 games his average has been 24.6 points and 12.7 rebounds. The nine-time All-Star is due $43.2 million in basic pay for the 2024-25 season, which precedes the start of a three-year deal worth $62 million each season. That maximum agreement, which will keep Davis in Los Angeles until 2028, broke an NBA record for the highest average yearly value.

Anthony Davis may be the New York Knick's missing piece

Anthony Davis may be the New York Knick's missing piece. While the franchise boasts one of the league's toughest defences this season, it could use some aid in terms of scoring, defensive rebounds, and blocks. The Knicks have an environment that might pull some big names to join. Not only do they compete in a large market, but they also have a talented squad directed by Jalen Brunson

However, unless the Los Angeles Lakers opt to rebuild or retool their roster, they may be unable to locate a package from the New York Knicks that is comparable with the value the nine-time All-Star adds to the team.
