Mike Muscala, an NBA big player with eleven seasons of experience, is hanging up his jersey. Muscala, who was well-known for his consistent shooting and strong playmaking, has decided to retire and work towards a master's degree in sports management to become a basketball coach or administrator. 

In the 2013 NBA Draft, Mike Muscala was taken 44th overall as a late second-round pick. He had an incredible career. Over the course of the preceding 11 seasons, he played for the Atlanta Hawks, Boston Celtics, Oklahoma City Thunder, Detroit Pistons, Los Angeles Lakers, and Philadelphia 76ers. He has averaged 5.9 points, 3.1 rebounds, and an incredible 37.3% shooting from beyond the arc per game over his career.

Muscala averaged 5.4 points and 3.1 rebounds per game over his first five seasons with the Atlanta Hawks. With his great work ethic and ability to shoot three points, he quickly established himself as a reliable bench player.

Averaging 9.7 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game while shooting 37.0% from three-point range and 44.6% from the field, Muscala had his best statistical year with the Thunder in the 2021 NBA season.

Mike Muscala to get master's degree

Muscala was a player for the Oklahoma City Thunder, Detroit Pistons, and Washington Wizards in the 2023–24 season. Throughout 53 games, he shot 35.9% from the field and 29.2% from three-point range, averaging 3.0 points and 2.4 rebounds per game.

Muscala intends to return to graduate school to earn a master's degree in sports management after retirement. He aspires to work in basketball coaching or administration, where his significant expertise and knowledge of the game would surely benefit him.
