Luka Doncic, star of the Dallas Mavericks, is doubtful for Sunday's Western Conference Finals Game 3 against the Minnesota Timberwolves due to right knee pain. Jason Kidd, head coach, addressed his situation in the hours leading up to tipoff. Dončić's game status will be confirmed after warmups.

Throughout the playoffs, Luka Doncic has been coping with a persistent knee issue. When he arrived at Sunday's American Airlines Centre game, he was cautiously approaching the field. Doncic is coming off a terrific performance in Game 2 when he scored 32 points, 10 rebounds, and 13 assists while shooting 10/23 from the field and 5/11 from three in 41 minutes of action.

Lika Doncic, an MVP finalist, is now enjoying a successful postseason run. Doncic is the regular-season scoring champion, averaging 28 points, 9.4 rebounds, 9.3 assists, and 1.4 steals per game in 14 games. He sealed Friday's Game 2 triumph against the Timberwolves with a step-back 3-pointer over Rudy Gobert in the dying seconds.

Dallas Mavericks facing injury problems

Dallas Mavericks have an opportunity to take a commanding lead in the series at home going into Sunday's game. Their victories in Minnesota gave them a 2-0 advantage. With a victory on Sunday night, they would take a 3-0 lead and earn a ticket to the NBA Finals. Never before has an NBA club won a playoff series by coming back from a 3-0 disadvantage.

Maxi Kleber is also listed as injured for the Mavericks; as of this writing, his condition was verified as "out" due to a "right shoulder" ailment. Olivier-Maxence Prosper, who has been sidelined due to an ankle ailment, is joined by him. Game 4 will take place in Dallas on Tuesday night. The winner of the series will play either Boston Celtics or Indiana Pacers in the NBA Finals.
