As per reports surfacing that Los Angeles Lakers LeBron James was unhappy with Darvin Ham as he limited his playing time throughout the season.

As per reports surfacing Los Angeles Lakers, LeBron James was unhappy with Darvin Ham as he limited his playing time throughout the season. The Los Angeles Lakers fired Darvin Ham only after two seasons as they failed to make it into the semi-final. Los Angeles Lakers lost to defending NBA champions Denver Nuggets in a playoff series by 4-1.

According to ESPN, "From the start of the season, sources tell us that James opposed the idea of restraining his minutes, a proposal promptly abandoned after a few games." Throughout the season, key players like James and Anthony Davis scarcely hid their critiques of Ham's plans, player rotations, and game-time adjustments.

According to reports LeBron James opposed the idea as he didn’t play a few games in this season. In this current regular season, LeBron James has an average of 35.3 minutes per game. The Los Angeles Lakers were placed in 7th position in the Western Conference.   

Darvin Ham has support from Rob Pelinka who is the Los Angeles Lakers Vice President of Basketball Operations and General Manager. As per PINKAVILLA she said, "Following an extensive season review, despite this being a tough decision, we concluded it's the best course of action." We “remain determined to deliver basketball of championship calibre to Lakers fans across the globe. We thank Darvin for his dedication and positivity.”

LeBron James to become free agent

During Darvin Ham's stint with the Los Angeles Lakers, he won 90 games and lost 74 games. Meanwhile, LeBron James' contract with the Los Angeles Lakers will come to an end by 2024-25 as he will become a free agent. LeBron James has averaged 7.3 rebounds, 8.3 assists, 54% points from the field, 41% three-pointers, 75% points from free-throw and 25.7 points this season. 

Meanwhile, reports suggest that LeBron James will not take his player option for the 2024/25 NBA season and will re-sign with the Los Angeles Lakers. However, it's up to him whether to sign with the team or find a different team

Rumours had it that James was planning to decline his player option for the 2024–25 season and re-sign with the Lakers.
