When Jason Kidd of the Dallas Mavericks said that Jaylen Brown is the greatest player on the Boston Celtics, Jrue Holiday concurred. Ahead of Game 2 of the 2024 NBA Finals, in which the Celtics are up 1-0 following a strong Game 1 showing, Kidd made the remarks.

During a Saturday interview with SiriusXM NBA Radio, Holiday was questioned concerning Kidd's commendation of Jaylen Brown, who emerged as the most effective player for the Celtics in Game 1 on both ends of the court. In agreement, the former NBA champion explained why the three-time All-Star is outstanding.

According to Sportskeeda, "It's the first time I'm hearing that but I mean, I don't think he's lying. I think JB is aggressive in every single way. He's getting to the paint, getting to the free throw line. Also making plays for other people and then he's guarding Luka (Doncic). He's guarding the best player," Holiday said.

Jrue Holiday added that he's been on a team, most likely the Milwaukee Bucks, where the greatest player took on responsibilities on both sides of the court. Jrue Holiday was most likely referring to Giannis Antetokounmpo, who led the Bucks on offence and defence in 2021, defeating the Phoenix Suns to win the title.

Dallas Mavericks will want to gain home-court advantage

Jaylen Brown may have been the best player for Boston Celtics in Game 1, but this might be perceived positively or negatively by some. It's a good thing since Brown has taken command and refuses to lose another NBA Finals. It might also stir the stew, as Jayson Tatum has long been regarded as the Celtics' finest player.

The second game of the 2024 NBA Finals is scheduled on Sunday at Boston's TD Garden. The Celtics will seek to grab a 2-0 series lead, while Dallas Mavericks will want to gain home-court advantage before traveling to Dallas for Games 3 and 4.
