Jalen Bruson of the New York Knicks is available to sign a contract extension in the upcoming summer. He may get a big fee if he waits for another year. As per reports, he is ready to sign a four-year contract extension of $156 this offseason and has a chance of getting a five-year contract extension of $270 million in summer 2025.

As per Steve Popper, Jalen Bruson agreed to the contract extension this offseason he would "remove his fourth season from the current deal and provide five more years of certainty in New York, rather than waiting until next summer."

Jalen Bruson has been the main player for the New York Knicks during the postseason as he carried the team to Eastern Conference Semifinals, but couldn’t make it to finals as they lost to Indiana Pacers in Game 7. His average in the playoff was 32.4 points. Meanwhile, during Game 7 he had a fracture in his left hand and had to leave the game in the second half.

His contribution to the New York Knicks helped them to hold the second spot in a regular season and they won 50 games and lost 32. He also got selected for the All-Star Game and has an average of 28.7 points and 6.7 assists while his three-point range shooting was 40.1 %.

New York Knicks has a lot of work to do with players contract

In addition to the potential of signing Brunson to an extension, the Knicks have a number of difficult decisions this summer. Star forward Julius Randle is also eligible for an extension, but his recovery from shoulder surgery may influence New York's willingness to offer him a new contract.

Rising big man Isaiah Hartenstein is about to become a free agent and is likely to attract a lot of attention. Swingman OG Anunoby can refuse his player option and enter the free market. This all points to a potentially hectic summer for the Knicks as they attempt to build around Brunson and position themselves to compete for a title.
