Jalen Brunson describes how Josh Hart was accidentally knocked out by Donte DiVincenzo with a thrown weight

In the gym, Hart and Donte DiVincenzo probably got into a heated disagreement that rapidly got out of hand. DiVincenzo lost his composure and hurled a weight at Hart, hitting him unconsciously. Brunson could still clearly recall the instant Hart took a surprise blow to the head. As per Pink Villa, Jalen Brunson stated, "They were always the ones fighting. Josh and Donte. Donte threw a weight at his forehand and knocked him out."

Josh Hart, however, played down the gravity of the events, claiming that there had only been misunderstandings. The bonds among the Villanova players were only reinforced by these altercations.
