At Gainbridge Fieldhouse, Indiana Fever defeated Washington Mystics 88-81 to win their third straight game. In the WNBA, the Indiana Fever is steadily gaining momentum. Indiana Fever began the season with 11 games in 20 days, a record of 2-9. However, they have already won five of their last seven games, including three straight. Indiana, with a 6-10 record, is currently ranked seventh in the postseason race.

They're on track to win four games in a row for the first time in nine years. Indiana's latest four-game winning streak came in 2015 when the Tulsa Shock still existed and Indiana great Tamika Catchings was playing. Indiana Fever will aim for four in a row Friday against Atlanta, a team they trounced earlier this week.

Caitlin Clark scored 18 points, a career-high 12 rebounds, six assists, and four steals for the Fever (5-10). She also committed six turnovers. In a huge second half, NaLyssa Smith scored 11 points and Erica Wheeler added nine points off the bench.

Indiana Fever players ended with double digits

Ariel Atkins scored 27 points to lead Washington Mystics (2-12), who were without injured stars Brittney Sykes and Shakira Austin. Karlie Samuelson scored 16 points, while Stephanie Dolson contributed 14. Washington, behind by nine entering the fourth quarter, went on a 9-2 run, closing to 70-68 on Emily Engstler's three-pointer with seven minutes remaining. Wheeler promptly countered with a jumper, Clark stole and fed Mitchell for a basket, and Clark made a three off a Wheeler pass to make it 77-68 with 5:05 remaining.

All four of Indiana's top players ended with double digits for the second day in a row: Aliyah Boston had 22, Kelsey Mitchel had 22, Caitlin Clark had 18, and NaLyssa Smith had 11. Even though this has happened twice in a row, this is just the second time the Fever have managed to get all of their stars two No. 1 picks and two No. 2 picks to gel well together.
