'Heavy on my heart... ' - LeBron James speaks out after Donald Trump's triumph US election

NBA legend LeBron James has made an emotional response to the unexpected result of the U.S. presidential election by sharing a moving moment with his young daughter Zhuri. James expressed the emotional and mental strain of the situation on Instagram, only hours after former President Donald Trump was proclaimed the victor over Vice President Kamala Harris. 

Along with a heartfelt commitment, the 39-year-old Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James posted a photo of himself holding his 10-year-old daughter. "HEAVY ON MY HEART & MIND THIS AM MY PRINCESS !!" James wrote, continuing with, "PROMISE TO PROTECT YOU WITH EVERYTHING I HAVE AND MORE!! WE DON'T NEED THEIR HELP!"

The sincere message demonstrates James' commitment to protecting his family, particularly in intense social and political situations. He and his wife, Savannah, have two kids, Bronny James, who is twenty, and Bryce, who is seventeen. James' role as an athlete and as a father dedicated to safeguarding his children's futures are both highlighted in the post. 

Before the election, James had publicly backed Vice President Kamala Harris, urging his supporters to think about the long-term effects of their choices. He posted a video featuring speeches and civil rights demonstrations on October 31. The film concluded with the scathing words, "Hate Takes Us Back." This video reaffirmed his message of progress and unity, which he highlighted in his support of Harris' candidacy.

Stephen Curry and LeBron James again join hands 

When James reflected on his support, he clarified that it was very personal. "Supporting Harris felt right when I think about my daughter, my wife, my mother, and the rights and future they deserve," he told reporters after the Lakers' triumph last week. James has a strong voice in the sports industry that reaches beyond the court.

LeBron James joined other athletes who supported Harris, including coach Steve Kerr and Stephen Curry of the Warriors. But after the election results were announced, James' attention shifted to his family, who he values most. The Instagram post was a pledge to continue fighting for a better future for his loved ones as well as a declaration of tenacity.
