For Tuesday's Game 4 against the Minnesota Timberwolves and Dallas Mavericks centre Dereck Lively II might not be available because of a strain in the neck after getting hit on the head by Karl-Anthony Towns's knee. Later reports revealed that he was "ok" after getting hit.

Dereck Lively II, a second-team All-Rookie pick, has averaged 8.5 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks in the playoffs, shooting 65.3% from the field. With Lively on the court, the Mavericks have outscored playoff opponents by 109 points, giving them the West's second-best postseason plus-minus this year, trailing only Minnesota centre Rudy Gobert.

According to ESPN "We have to have next-man-up mentality," Luka Doncic said after Sunday's win. "Obviously, he's an amazing player. He's helped us so, so much in these playoffs and in the regular season. So obviously we're going to miss him if he can't play. But we got to have a next-man-up mentality."

His teammate Maxi Kleber hasn't played due to an injury in the AC joint in his right shoulder against the Los Angeles Clippers since the first round of playoffs. Maxi Kleber had an average of 5.7 points in the first round of playoffs.

Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic is on the questionable list as he is having pain in the right knee and left ankle. Ahead of playoffs, the Dallas Mavericks named him on the questionable list but he managed to play all the game for the team.

Two years before when Dallas Mavericks reached Western Conference Finals Maxi Kleber was a key player in the team and helped the team in all six games which Dallas Mavericks won over Los Angeles Clippers. He scored 10 out of 18 three-pointer and was outstanding in the game. Kleber's presence offers coach Jason Kidd with lineup options, as he can play centre in small teams with a five-out attacking approach and power forward in large lineups.
