With DeWanna Bonner scoring 16 points, Alyssa Thomas grabbing seven boards, and seven assists, and the Connecticut Sun outscoring the struggling Los Angeles Sparks 79-70 on Tuesday to win the series for the tenth time in a row.

Los Angeles rookie Cameron Brink seemed to have suffered a knee injury during the game. During a drive to the basket in the first quarter, Brink, the second overall choice in the WNBA draft, stumbled and did not get up. After making her way to the sidelines, Brink staggered in the direction of the locker room, when two Sparks staff members helped her up and transported her.

With 14 games played, Connecticut Sun (13-1) has the greatest start in club history. The last time the Sun and Sparks lost was on July 30, 2020. Each of the five Sun starters scored ten or more points. DiJonai Carrington scored 12, Brionna Jones scored 13, and Tyasha Harris scored 14.

Connecticut Sun dominated the game

Aari McDonald scored 14 points and dished out seven assists to lead Los Angeles (4-11). Rickea Jackson scored ten points, and Li Yueru added eleven points off the bench. Both teams shot at least 50% from the field, with Connecticut leading 39-28 at the half. In the first half, the Sparks turned the ball over fourteen times, which put them behind.

Yueru scored the Sparks' sole 3-pointer in the first half, but the Sun limited them to a dismal 16.7% from beyond the arc while shooting more than 50% from the field and three before halftime. Los Angeles Sparks went 6-for-17 from three-point shooting, including two made from UConn alum Kia Nurse, while Aari McDonald led the Sparks with 14 points and seven assists. With a 15-point advantage at the end of the third quarter, the Sun dominated the fourth. In the end, the Sparks committed 22 turnovers.
