Angel Reese set to join WBA leaving LSU Tigers

LSU Tigers star player Angel Reese has announced that she is leaving school for the WNBA. On Wednesday she officially announced through a post on her Instagram and her detailed decision in the story with Vogue.

LSU Tigers star player Angel Reese has announced that she is leaving school for the WNBA. On Wednesday she officially announced through a post on her Instagram and her detailed decision in the story with Vogue. 

In the Elite Eight NCAA tournament on Monday, LSU Tigers lost to Lowa Hawkeyes which was a rematch of last year's national championship game. Later on, Tuesday ESPN revealed that it was the most-watched women’s college game in history. In 2023 when LSU Tigers won the national title over 9.9 million viewers were watching which makes it the most watched women’s college basketball game in history. While their rematch was viewed by 16.1 million viewers.

According to CNN Sports, “I’ve done everything I wanted to in college,” Reese said in the Vogue story. “I’ve won a national championship, I’ve gotten [Southeastern Conference] Player of the Year, I’ve been an All-American. My ultimate goal is to be a pro – and to be one of the greatest basketball players to play, ever. I feel like I’m ready.”

Lowa Hawkeyes won over the LSU Tigers

The WNBA draft is scheduled to take place on 15th April. While a year ago LSU Tigers and Angel Reese won their first women’s basketball title by defeating Lowa Hawkeyes and Caitlin Clark in the final 102-85. As the things between Angel Reese and Catlin Clark got heated up. She was showing her ring finger towards him.

On Monday night in an Elite Eight match Catlin Clark and Lowa Hawkeyes got their revenge as they defeated LSU Tigers 94-87 and advanced to the final four for two back-to-back seasons. In the following game, Angel Reese got 17 points, 20 rebounds, four assists, and three blocks before twisting his ankle in the second quarter. So far in 33 games, she averaged 13.4 rebounds and 18.6 points. After the match, both Catlin Clark and Angel Reese made a handshake with each other.
