Williams Racing signs Former F1 world champions for the 2025 season

William's Racing has now signed Former F1 champions Jenson Button, Jacques Villeneuve and Jamie Chadwick as their ambassadors and will join the team in 2025.

One of the oldest teams in F1, Williams Racing has announced that they have signed 1997 F1 world champion Jacques Villeneuve for the 2025 season. He was a former Williams driver and now a Sky Sports F1 pundit. After many years he will again be part of his championship-winning racing team.

The Candian is also the son of F1 legend Gilles Villeneuve. He raced for Williams Racing from 1996 to 1998. He became the world champion in 1997 defeating Michael Schumacher who was driving for Ferrari.

Schumacher was disqualified for the entire 1997 season as he tried to crash with Jacques intentionally.

Jacques will join his former teammate Jenson Button and female racer Jamie Chadwick as an ambassador for the team. After returning to Williams, Villeneuve said “Williams has been a crucial part of my life, filled with fond memories. I am ecstatic to be part of the family again, and to help celebrate the team’s heritage while supporting its future.”

Jenson Button the 2009 F1 world champion said “Williams gave me my first shot in Formula 1, and it’s incredible to be celebrating 25 years since that debut this year. Being an ambassador for this team is a privilege, and I’m excited to continue contributing to its legacy and future.”

Williams also signed Jamie Chadwick a former F1 academy driver as a mentor. She will train Lia Block for the 2025 F1 season. She said “Williams has been a huge part of my career and journey in motorsport over the last four years. I’m proud to continue representing the team in 2025, challenging myself to keep developing as a driver and helping to mentor the next generation of racers coming through F1 Academy.”

Williams F1 team signed Carlos Sainz from Ferrari and he will partner alongside Alex Albon. The Williams team will unveil their FW47 at Silverstone on February 14. All 10 teams will unveil their 20 drivers with F1 2025 color schemes on February 18 during the F1 75th anniversary event.
