In a tense moment at the Hungarian Grand Prix, Zhou Guanyu and Sergio Perez narrowly avoided a major collision during the second free practice session at the Hungaroring. The session had just resumed following a lengthy delay caused by Charles Leclerc's crash when Zhou spun at high speed.

He nearly made contact with Perez's RB20. The close call led to a heated exchange, with Zhou directing his frustration towards Perez. The incident occurred at the same corner where Leclerc had crashed earlier, adding to the drama of the session.

Here is the video:

Zhou, driving for Stake F1, lost control and spun off the track, just missing Perez's Red Bull. The Mexican driver managed to avoid the collision, but Zhou was incensed, unleashing an expletive-laden rant over the team radio. "This Red Bull, what the f***?" Zhou shouted, blaming Perez for the near-miss.

Was Sergio Perez a mistake?

Perez's on-track manoeuvre was indeed perilous, with the potential for a significant accident. The Red Bull driver, already under pressure following a disappointing performance at Silverstone where he crashed during qualifying and exited in Q1, narrowly escaped another disaster.

His future with Red Bull remains uncertain, with the team urging him to improve his performances as their rivals close in the constructors' championship standings. Despite the scare, Perez managed to continue the session and secured the fourth-fastest time. In contrast, Zhou's session was compromised. He could not improve his time after the spin, finishing in 20th place despite an impressive fifth-place finish in the first practice session (FP1)
