Formula 1 veteran Fernando Alonso is known for his sharp wit and candid responses, and he didn't disappoint during the first free practice session at the Hungarian Grand Prix. The Spaniard, currently driving for Aston Martin, provided a classic reaction over the team radio that left fans and commentators amused.

During FP1, Alonso's race engineer inquired about the balance of his car, especially to aid his teammate, Lance Stroll. The question aimed to gather valuable feedback on the new updates Aston Martin had implemented for this race.

"Fernando, what would you say about the balance that lap, especially to help the other car (Lance Stroll)?" asked the engineer. After a noticeable sigh, Alonso's response was both cynical and humorous: "Uh... Yes, good luck....."

This wry comment highlighted Alonso's apparent dissatisfaction with the new updates, suggesting that they were not living up to expectations. Aston Martin had high hopes that these updates would provide a performance boost at the Hungaroring, but Alonso's reaction indicated otherwise.

Ferrari dominated FP1 and FP2

Despite the Spaniard's lack of enthusiasm, the first practice session had other notable highlights. Ferrari fans found a glimmer of hope as both Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc delivered impressive performances.

Sainz clocked the fastest lap of the session with a time of 1:18.713, benefiting from the revised floor introduced by Ferrari. Leclerc followed closely, finishing three-tenths of a second behind in third place, suggesting a significant improvement for the Scuderia.

However, it was Red Bull's Max Verstappen who continued to assert his dominance, setting an intimidating benchmark for the rest of the field. Verstappen's performance reaffirmed his position as the driver to beat, despite the efforts of Ferrari and other teams to close the gap.
