WATCH: The most intense heated and near-crash moments captured at the US GP sprint

The United States Grand Prix is the most disastrous weekend for both Mercedes drivers after many years. There were some heated incidents occurred during the qualifying.

The Formula 1 United States Grand Prix sprint race is over, with Max Verstappen seeing the checkered flag first. It was followed by qualifying where McLaren’s Lando Norris was the pole sitter followed by Verstappen and Sainz. Lando now has the advantage to win the race as he qualified the fastest and got pace in his car. However, many other incidents happened during the sprint and qualifying sessions. Let's take a look.

Lawson's Divebomb

During the sprint race, there was a high-heat moment between Liam Lawson and Formula 1 Veteran driver Fernando Alonso. The Aston Martin driver was struggling with pace and was catching up positions and suddenly Liam Lawson dive-bombed. Alonso was stunned by the action and he called the RB team driver ‘An idiot’. The incident changed for the worse when Alpine driver Esteban Ocon took advantage of the situation and he passed both the drivers.

Pit release could have cost the championship

The other was at the pit stop where Max Verstappen and Pierre Gasly nearly collided with each other during the exit. Max Verstappen was pushed to the corner of the pit he could have severely damaged the right slide of his front wing which could have turned into a disaster.

The FIA has called it an unsafe release by the Alpine team. Max Verstappen then went on to the qualifying where he finished second in the pole. He will be looking to win the US Grand Prix as Red Bull seems to have regained momentum which was absent for the last 7 races.

Mercedes weekend is terrible

The final big incident was George Russell's 27G crash to the wall during qualifying. He was turning at the exit of turn 19 which is a fast corner and he lost control of the car sliding into the barriers which ended his session.

The United States Grand Prix is the most terrible weekend for Mercedes after many years of dominating the circuit. Lewis Hamilton who won the most times in the COTA circuit finished at P19 which is nearly the bottom of the table.
