Williams driver and Ferrari reserve driver Ollie Bearman had a collision during the first free practice session of the Mexican Grand prix. The collision happened after Alex Albon was on a flying lap and Ollie Bearman was moving aside to avoid intervention.

Albon had a little oversteer out of the corner and crashed into the front left side of Leclerc’s Ferrari and spun straight into the wall. Both drivers came out of their cars unhurt and the medical team was there to take them to their garages.

Quick to blame Bearman

But after the collision, Stake Sauber F1 reserve driver Robert Shwartzman was driving his car and as soon as he saw Ferrari on the sides of the track and the Williams car on the barriers he put the blame on Bearman for the incident.

The young Israeli-Russian said “Oh my god, Big one, big one. I think Bearman did something to someone.” But Robert himself was given a 5 second penalty for overtaking during yellow flags. The incident was seemingly a race incident as many people question Alex albons judgement when coming out of the corner.

But being a rookie Robert was very quick to blame Ollie Bearman who was only at the wrong place at the wrong time. Many believe Alex Albon could have controlled his car with oversteering rather than blaming Bearman for the incident and calling him an 'idiot'.

Alex Albons car is full of ruins as Leclerc's Ferrari needs some work quickly before the next practice session which starts in a while. The session was complete with George Russell, Carlos sainz and Yuki Tsunoda being the front runners.

Max Verstappen was fourth fastest after the session but was suffering an engine issue which pushed him to the garage prematurely with 10 minutes remaining in the session. He was the winner of last year's Mexican Grand Prix and has a total of 5 wins at the circuit which is the most by any racer. Home town hero Checo Perez was 10th fastest and his disappointment continues even in his home grand prix. He missed a podium opportunity last year after crashing with Charles Leclerc on the opening lap.
