In a dramatic turn of events at the San Marino MotoGP, Pedro Acosta was involved in a high-profile crash at Turn 14, which significantly impacted his race. The incident occurred as Acosta was navigating the tight corner but found himself in trouble after running wide, resulting in a spill that left a considerable amount of gravel on the track.

Here is the video:

The race began with Pecco Bagnaia in pole position, followed closely by Franco Morbidelli and Jorge Martin, with Acosta starting from fourth. On the very first lap, Martin managed to overtake Morbidelli at Turn 2 to move into second place, while Acosta also made a move to secure third place by Turn 8. However, the race soon saw its first major clash when Enea Bastianini and Marc Marquez collided at Turn 8, adding to the unfolding chaos.

Here is the video:

By Lap 3, Martin was challenging Bagnaia but lost ground after coming close to making contact with the leader. Meanwhile, Acosta, who was initially making good progress, experienced a setback when he lost a winglet following contact with Morbidelli at Turn 4. Despite this, Acosta managed to reclaim third place briefly by overtaking Morbidelli again at Turn 8, but he lost the position after running wide at Turn 9.

Pecco Bagnaia continues to lead

As the race progressed, Bagnaia extended his lead to 0.6 seconds by Lap 4, with Morbidelli setting the fastest lap of the race, indicating his intent to push for a strong result. In the meantime, Marco Bezzecchi, who had a rough start, was circulating in ninth position, while Alex Marquez completed the top 10.

The incident for Acosta occurred as the race strategy unfolded. With Jorge Martin's impressive performance and Pecco Bagnaia's efforts to respond after a poor sprint performance, the race continued with heightened tension. Acosta's crash not only disrupted his race but also altered the dynamics for other contenders, who had to navigate the debris and adapt their strategies accordingly.
