The two have, however, already shared the racetrack when the Red Bull junior driver made his AlphaTauri FP1 debut.

Career-changing point for Lewis Hamilton

The turning point came towards the end of the F2 championship, when the optimism around him became palpable, and after the final race in Abu Dhabi, he received a call from Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko to sign his contract. Hadjar's promotion to F1 was a wild experience. Ahead of Australian GP Lewis Hamilton is going through a serious transition at the same time that Hadjar is getting ready for the most important event in his nascent career.

After a 12-year with Mercedes, he left for Ferrari at the end of the 2024 season.  Hamilton had a great first two days of pre-season testing after going through a rigorous off-season TPC (testing of prior cars) program in January and early February. On Thursday, he even posted the quickest lap time of the morning session.
