Known fondly as “Carlando” by fans, the duo shared a memorable evening after the thrilling race at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez. Carlos Sainz clinched victory with a remarkable performance, overcoming an early setback to reclaim P1 by overtaking Max Verstappen.

Here is the video:

This triumphant race, set in front of an electrifying Mexican crowd, held special significance for Sainz, who expressed his emotions post-race, saying, “I’ve been saying for a while I wanted one more win before leaving Ferrari and to do it here in front of this mega crowd is incredible.” The win was not only a personal milestone but also essential for Ferrari’s growing momentum in the Constructors’ Championship.

Lando Norris, finishing a well-earned P2 despite a demanding race, joined the Sainz family for dinner at a local Mexican restaurant. As photos of the dinner surfaced on Instagram, fans were treated to a glimpse of the friendship that thrives beyond the track.

Notably, Norris was the only non-family member in attendance, as Sainz’s Ferrari teammate Charles Leclerc was absent from the gathering. This left Norris in an exclusive spot within Sainz’s inner circle, solidifying their bond despite their positions as rivals on the grid.

The Mexican Grand Prix weekend wasn’t short of memorable moments. After the 71-lap race, McLaren’s CEO Zak Brown added a touch of fun by photobombing Ferrari’s celebration of their 1-3 finish. Meanwhile, Sainz reciprocated with a show of support for his former team by participating in Norris’s post-race P2 celebrations.

As Formula 1 heads to Brazil, fans will be watching to see how the rivalry between McLaren and Ferrari unfolds, with Ferrari closing in on McLaren by only 29 points in the Constructors’ standings. The Carlando friendship may have stolen the spotlight in Mexico, but as America's triple-header wraps up, both teams will likely set aside pleasantries to push each other to the limit on the track.
