Max Verstappen was often criticized for driving aggressively and taking risks. During the Mexican Grand Prix, many fans and Former world champions were very critical of Max Verstappen’s way of driving. In the last Brazilian Grand Prix, he expressed complete bravery, and without any fear, he took risks and won the Rain-soaked Brazilian Grand Prix.
Even if he had made a small mistake the end would have been disastrous for him and the championship. But his pure bravery in the rain showed the world who is the real world champion. Ayrton Senna once said, “Rain puts all cars to equal, but not the drivers’. Max Verstappen was the driver, Senna was referring to. He tested himself under complex situations like the rain and emerged victorious taking all the risks to overtake and win the race.
The Bravery he showed was not new for a Verstappen. Jos Verstappen the father of the world champion Max Verstappen was also a Formula 1 driver who raced against greats like Michael Schumacher, and Mika Hakkinen. He was also known for taking risks and putting his bravery into races. There was one race where Jos Verstappen showed he was not an ordinary driver.
No Fear in the eyes
During the 1994 German Grand Prix, there was a huge incident happened which will be forever remembered in Formula 1 history. Jos Verstappen was driving for the Benetton-Ford team and started 19th after qualifying. The race started and the first lap was complete mayhem as many drivers like Mika Hakkinen, David Coulthard, Martin Brunlde, Eddie Irvin, and Rubens Barrichello tangled with each other. Many cars were damaged and most of them went to the pit stops after the first lap.

Benetton Driver Jos Verstappen also went to the Pit stop after the disaster. But there was even more waiting for him at the pits. The Benetton Mechanics tried to refuel the car with Jos sitting inside it. But unfortunately, some of the fuel spilled over the hot bodywork of the Benetton car.

And all of a sudden the car was engulfed in the flames. Jos Verstappen was sitting and every mechanic ran for their lives. Jos Verstappen kept his calm as the Track officials immediately handled the fire and cleared the car from fire.
After that Jos Verstappen was seen calmly walking away from the fire, removing his race suit and getting some water to cool down. There was not even a small fear in his eyes after coming out of that massive disaster which shows how brave father Verstappen was then during his racing days. The same kind of bravery is what we see when Max Verstappen is racing nowadays.
