The Pole leader Takaaki Nakagaami also had a crash during the start of the Barcelona race in turn 2 having a low side. He came back stronger securing a pole position after the Free Practice session. The biggest shocker was the crash of the world champion Bagnaia after Maverick passed him aggressively into the corner.

The Two Red Bull Gas Gas teammates were out at the same time during the opening session. They both were heading into the same corner and suddenly got mixed up and crashed straight into the walls. But despite the crash, Pedro Acosta set the fastest lap next to Nakagaami and finished second.

Francesco Bagnaia crashed during the warmup lap as he was looking at the corner and suddenly Maverick Vinales of Aprilia passed him at very high speed and braked. Bagnaia had a front wheel lockup and slid off the track.

The champion was not expecting someone to pass him and was shocked. But as we see the title fight pressure went into his head as we don't expect this kind of silly crash during normal times. It was an or-die race for Bagnaia as Jorge Martin had a slight edge over the Italian.

Even if he secures a win during the Sprint race he will become the new world champion ending Bagnaia’s two consecutive world championship runs. Pecco will also lose the opportunity to win the MotoGP world championship thrice consecutively.

This year's MotoGP championship fight is the closest battle that we have seen in many years. Martin is riding for Ducati in his last season as next year he will move to another Italian team Aprilia replacing Aleix Espargaro. He will be looking to carry the Number 1 status to his new team Aprilia Racing by winning the championship.
